I know... It's about time.

First off this is the Morning Light deep V competition. lol I won because I pulled a hulk and ripped the v to new depths. Top left is me, top right is Jude, bottom left Levi, bottom right Matt. Good bro's.
Mural I put up for inspire portraits. I think it turned out well.
Bluethroat SOLD
This is one of Jude's signature 2 tone mountain pieces. Love his work. solid dude.
Cloud piece framed in barnwood. Fuckin frame fell apart during set up. hate that situation, but I fixed it.
Now this one is kinda a laugh. First one to sell, and fastest to paint.
Sunrise in the Little Belts. All three sold.
Collab with Jude. One of my faves I've ever been involved with.
'nother collab with Jude. Chief Sleeping Bowl/Bull
'Nother collab with Jude. SOLD.

Here's a very incomplete update of what the art life has been lately. I had that show with Jude Butchard M. at Inspire Portraits that went really well. Huge turnout. I apologise for both the timestamps and shitty few shots of the artwork at that show. I was half-drunk and felt like spending time with the buddies. Anyways here's a lil some some for ya.

I wanna put a new sketchbook post up soon, got alot of doodlez for ya. Got a show coming up at Machinery Row. More to come soon. and I mean it. I'll stop my slackin'.

A Flood At The Foot Of The Mountains

Jude Butchard M., and I will be showing at {In}spire portraits, opening Friday, March 4th. The body of work in the showing will include the personal work of both Butchard and I, and will also include some collaborative work. This will be the first formal showing of my work in Montana.

This will also be a good time to see a commissioned mural in the alley behind the photo boutique, done legally, by me, Goo.

Photo's from both the painting process for the mural, as well as the work submitted to the show should be coming soon.

ULTRA BLOG BLOWOUT

Lots of work adding up. Oddly this is just a small fraction of what's finished now. Keepin the rest waiting for better photos, pre-show. Having a lot of fun. Been working in the basement of morning light coffee roasters as a sort-of studio space. The lil wooden ufo piece above along with the couple wagon pieces and that mountain range are all on little scrap wood blocks. The piece directly below is a collaborative piece with Jude Butchard. Got a second one of those in the works. Under that is a mural in that fore-mentioned basement. The bluethroat is a canvas piece I find pretty boring. Then those little wooden blocks, then sketches and drawings.

Should have more soon as most of the work for the show is finished. But I keep pumping out more, so that's more I may like enough to show you readers. Anyways, That's all I really got.

P.S. Great Falls has gotten really fuckin cold again. like 10-20 degrees below zero (Fahrenheit.)

The Beard I Used To Have

Got a split show in the Davidson building. More details on the location later. Anyways we were recommended to have 35 pieces total by March first. I should have twenty pieces for my wall ready by then. This'll be a fun one. The group show didn't end up panning out, but this is a much bigger opportunity. Anyways this finished ink, spraypaint, and charcoal illustration on paper turned out pretty decent. Ready for framing. A bit of the work I plan to put in the show is up in previous posts, and I think I`ll keep the rest a surprise, as every new piece is surprising me. Mush Love

Workin hard/hardly workin

Here's a piece I finished for a group show in january or february.
once framed, this'll be in the fore-mentioned show as well.
In progress illustration.
Studio Gallery shotz.

So basically I still suck, but I`m starting to not suck. I feel a lot more inspired, and am trying to get some painting chops I feel that I need. Making sure not to take the shit seriously and be whimsical, until a definite big show is thrown at me. I hope it's not too far off.

We were galloping manic...we were swallowing panic.(jullian)

Norman Rockwell study. based off of the painting 'freedom of speech." That guy was one naive patriot. But goddamn...some painting skillz.
Quick and simple piece. This is one of three twelve by twelve canvasses with similar designs. comment if you want to see the series together. anyways, It`s based off of a photo I took on a ridge in the Little Belt mountain range. beautiful, beautiful, place and a great hike.
Velociraptor :) I wish I could make a living drawing exclusively dinosaurs.
Leo DaVinci Study. Pen and ink is so goddamn fun.

The rest of these are just sketches. Good not seein ya, readers :) sleep tight and, well, fuck off.

Sir Nicholas Alforde, the Noble

From here we embark.
Start on the face, then hair, then clothing.
Throw in the hilt of a sword, some hands, and some frilly cuffs.
Finish the sword in sheath, and give him a big collar, and a Scottish style necklace.
Cover that whacky exposed arm, and give him a new set of frilly cuffs. And with touch-ups on the hair you've got a finished piece.
Detail of hand holding sword in sheath.

Detail of the collar and Scottish necklace.

Proportions are a bit off but the shading is nice. Give it a B-
